Latest update, version 1.15.0.659 playback bug

Please see my post here:

and here:

10 minute & 10 Second play time and then a hang (buffering) endless loop. If closed and restarted will play again from last point for 10min 10sec. On ALL platforms. Every time an update is forced there is always an issue, due to lack of testing, but if it must be done stable releases are preferred.

The sooner this issue can be corrected the better as currently plex is not watchable on Roku, web, android, ios, Samsung TV app…etc due to this bug, that never should have been aloud to be force updated. The amount of posts and reply’s regarding this 1 bug should have been already seen and responded to. Hence my referral to the above pages to show that there is a problem, not only current, but also growing with lack of support. A simple update announcements thread or the like would at least not leave members (valued?) hanging.

Did you really post a link that shows to get to the info you referred to took 7 sub heading jumps after the initial category? So a total of 8 categories.

I thank you for proving my point on having a simple ( AKA on the main forum page) thread to post whats going on and I dunno, possibly another thread dedicated to current bugs that users can post to on the same main page? If you had to run a detailed search to find that then you had to go to far, things like bugs should be in an easily accessible area so ALL PEEPS can find it.

By the way, if you didn’t take the time to read the 2 referenced posts listed then you are only catching a part of the whole post. But either way I thank you for proving my point.

FYI, the last public release reset all settings on the server, so even though I was set to not beta it was force changed to beta. So again, public or beta, forced updates always have certain problems for some users, doesn’t change the fact that what was forced the last time I didn’t catch and it still caused the actual problem of 10min 10sec video on this release.

Thank you for that, I assume you actually read the topic heading? The real question is, does anyone have a possible answer/ suggestion regarding the video playback. Which was plainly listed in the first post and the header.

Regardless of how many people want to focus on everything but the question, the question still remains…10min 10secs video and buffering till the end of time, if stopped, will resume from last stop point for 10 min 10 sec. The rest is my opinion and suggestion, which you again proved for me. Thank you.

If it is not a 1 click for these important issues/ areas it doesn’t help the basic user, that was my opinion/suggestion, I take from your post that your opinion was everyone should be able to do what you can do, and the suggestion was you calling me less than basic. Even if that were applicable you still are not seeing the question as outlined, therefore I ask you, “what would you rather do”, answer a question or try to sound smart arguing nothing more than an opinion? We both have one.

Please only helpful comments, I would love a coder or plex tech to look at this post as this bug is quite annoying.

To get their attention it helps if you tag your post with the OS your server is on and upload the debug logs.
Settings-> General -> “Enable Plex Media Server debug logging”
Save
Restart server
Do not enable Verbose unless instructed to.

Recreate the problem, then wait 30 seconds and grab the logs

  1. Go to Settings > Manage > Troubleshooting in Plex Web App
  2. Click the Download Logs button
  3. Attach the resulting zip file to your post
