Latest Xbox One app update killed my server access

Hello,
I have server version 0.9.16.6. The last version to be supported officially by Plex for my Netgear NAS. I’ve paid for the lifetime plex pass and now I can’t even use it because the app states I have to have version 1.5.1. I understand not adding new features to my NAS, but to kill off access completely? That’s just wrong on so many levels especially when I’ve paid you for this.

Found this on one of the support pages:

“That means that Plex Media Server versions 0.9.17.0 and newer will not be available and will not run on those devices.
Note: Existing installs of older Plex Media Server versions will continue to function as they did before, but newer versions will not be available for those platforms.

With the update to require me to have version 1.5.1 clearly changes how my Plex Server functions because I can no longer get to it, therefore it has no functionality.

I agree, to not update with new features is fair enough, progress is inevitable, but to deny access is another thing entirely.

Old one should have retired, called “Legacy Plex” and the new one actually launched as a new Plex app to avoid this very situation.
I feel for the people who’ve lost their lounge room media - victims of thoughtless rollout (or at best victims of forced obsolescence).

I’m sure Plex staff will just ignore this post…
