Left navigation bar skips several categories and just goes to Settings

It started about a week ago that when looking at the main Plex screen in the AppleTV app, I can navigate to the top three navigation categories: my user settings, Home, and Movies, but clicking down again skips the remainder of my categories (TV Shows, Playlists, and ‘Movies and shows on Plex’) and goes straight to the Settings category at the bottom. Nothing I do will let me select any of the remaining navigation categories in the left navigation menu.

I can find and play some content from the unselectable categories by finding it from other sorts of navigation (‘Recently added in TV Shows’, from the home menu or ‘Playlists’ at the top of the Movies view, for instance), so I know the server is working, but I’m prevented from directly browsing those categories.

I have exited the app fully and relaunched, logged out and back in again, restarted the AppleTV, and uninstalled & reinstalled the Plex app, none of which changed this behavior in any way.

All categories are accessible from the web UI, and from the plex app on my iphone.

UPDATE: I unpinned Movies from the sidebar, and was then able to navigate the remaining categories correctly. However, re-pinning it back to the sidebar resulted in the same issue again. I then unpinned Movies, then unpinned ‘Movies and Shows on Plex’, then re-pinned Movies, and all appears to be working correctly, but re-pinning ‘Movies and Shows on Plex’ breaks it again; I used to be able to have 4 categories pinned to the sidebar, but it seems I no longer can.

I’m having the same issues. Nothing seems to fix it. I’m hopeful an app update comes out soon

Similar issue here except it’s only happening with my managed users and not the admin profile. Also, I only have 3 tabs pinned to the side (Home, Movies and TV Shows) and it only skips TV shows.

Same issue. Also had to unpin movies to be able to access my TV’s pin

Not an ideal solution, but a workaround until this is fixed: if you re-order and move whatever you can’t access below what you can, you can then get to what you couldn’t access. Annoying for sure, but it works.

In my case, I found if I re-ordered and unpinned anything I wasn’t using to keep options down, I can now access everything again. Definitely a bug, unfortunately I don’t have a backup I can roll back to, so now just waiting on an update to fix.

The only things on my home screen now are:

Home, Film and TV. It seems if I go to 4 or more categories the issue occurs.

Same issue here

Fixed: Updating AppleTV to 14.6 resolved this issue for me. I also have “Experimental features” enabled under Account settings for Plex. Looks to be using the new layout now.

I had the same problem on IOS 14.3 I upgraded to 14.7 and now all fixed
