Let Plex Know. This is Not Acceptable

As a long time supporter, and a more than a decade yearly Plex Pass holder. I am angry and dumbstruck by how bad the new release is. Just baffling.

I renewed my yearly, gladly last month - and now have requested a refund.

This was not an easy decision, I have friends and family (kids and parents) who access my Plex server, many with Roku at my suggestion. But as a long time Plex supporter, server provider, and user I can no longer

Let Plex know how you feel about this broken update. If you are a Plex Pass holder, request a refund - let them know how unacceptable this is. Express your displeasure by saying ā€œNo.ā€

Reviewing the current support forum reactions, and the lack of response, I see no other option.

Go to the contact page, select billing, and express how disappointed you are, and request a refund. Enough folks do this, I hope they see the err of their way.

For those leaving Roku Plex: Other options exist, and now superior ā€œexperienceā€ options exist for Roku, such as Emby, and JellyFin

Terrible changes. Plex unusable on Roku. Will change platforms if Plex does not fix this nightmare and fire whoever did it.

Hot trash doesn’t even adequately describe this abomination of an ā€œupdateā€. This major screwup along with unfixed, months-long function-breaking iOS bugs have driven me to switch to Emby. Plex has shown that they dgaf about the users.

Agree. Put.It.Back.Now. If you want to add this … hot mess as an option for Plex users to try on in the Roku store, that would be the way to go. But not as a counter-intuitive fait acompli that leaves your users thrashing on the deck like a gaffed tuna. NB: Don’t think you can just keep your heads down and ā€˜this will all blow over’. People…this user being one of them…will leave the platform if you persist in this vein.

…and P.S. If you go anywhere near the web app—the only really functional UI you’ve got in your stable–-that will absolutely be the final straw.

Maybe it is time to make a call to your local TV station and ask they help you address the problem with Plex.

I will never understand why you change a UI when not asked or even giving the option to choose between the 2. it worked fine, no issues and now its confusing and sloppy.

Yeah, this UI update has just buried things under endless menu’s IMHO.

User interface design is simple, if you can’t get there in 3 clicks it’s WRONG…. That was the approach for YEARS and then it became, let’s pretty this up and use search functions which is incorrect especially when using a simple remote. I dumped M$’ junk OS because they started to try and push the fancy interface BS and if I have to I will start the switch to Jellyfin or something else. I have been a PlexPass holder for many years and a user since 2015. The UI changes that are being made might be fine for a tablet or phone but for a Roku device it’s absolutely a step backwards.

Plex Developers, you are on notice. Make an option to have the original UI, return to the original UI or plan for a mass exodus. This is some major BS.

Plex has turned into a smoldering pile of ā– ā– ā– ā–  that is just a revenue stream. Zero ā– ā– ā– ā– ā–  given about subscribers. Did Plex hire that idiot from Sonos to lead development?

In any case, I already shutdown my Plex server, installed JellyFin and am currently watching my favorite movie. Bye bye Plex, hope you die a slow and painful death.

HATE IT. CHANGE IT BACK! AND FIRE WHOEVER MADE THIS CHANGE. Oh and put the music back in the iOS app, why do I need two apps on my phone to access my library?!
