LG B6 does not direct play some of the 4K content

Hello.

This is my first post. Untill now I was getting all the help from other topics. This one is tricky.

I have LG OLED B6 tv and untill now I was able to direct play everything on my media library. I’ve discovered that if media file resoluiton is 3840x1920, the tv is not able to direct play and transcoding to 1080p begins. If the file resoluiton is 3840x2160, the tv direct plays as it should.
What could be wrong?

Linux server 1.19.4.2902
LG OLED B6-Z webOS 3.3.0
plex app 4.29.6

Edit: This only happens when file has HDR. Without HDR 3840x1920 direct plays just fine.

I am having a similar problem although I have a feeling it’s something to do with the audio codec transcoding TRUEHD 7.1

I also have an LG b6 OLED.

If I direct stream a 4k movie with HDR and TRUEHD 7.1 enabled it will transcode video and audio causing my server to big down.

If you disable TRUEHD 7.1 and ENABLE AC3 5.1 for the audio stream you should not have a problem (I haven’t ) …

For what it’s worth my C9 works just fine having TRUEHD 7.1 enabled.

I don’t know if this a Plex error or just the TV error but if the audio isn’t a huge deal for you that should help you out!
