LG C9 Plex App (v5.93.2) Search Function Fails - 'No Results' Found (DS224+ Server)

Hello everyone,

I am experiencing a persistent issue with the search function in the official Plex app on my LG OLED C9 Smart TV. While playback works perfectly, searching for any video content (movies, shows, etc.) always returns “No Results Found”, even for items that are definitely in the library and currently playing.

My Setup:

  • Plex Server: Running the latest version on a Synology DS224+ DiskStation.
  • Plex Client (Failing): LG OLED C9 with Plex App version 5.93.2.
  • Plex Client (Working): Plex Web App and various Fire TV Stick clients (Search works perfectly here).

Steps I have already taken (Workarounds that did NOT solve the issue):

  1. Server Maintenance:
    • Forced a full library scan for all media folders.
    • Optimized the database and Emptied the Trash on the DS224+ Plex Server.
  2. Client-Side Troubleshooting (LG C9):
    • Closed the Plex App and completely power cycled the LG C9 (unplugged for 30 seconds).
    • Uninstalled and reinstalled the Plex App (v5.93.2) from the LG Content Store.
    • Verified server connection settings (Secure Connections).

The Problem:

Since the search function works flawlessly on the Plex Web App and all my Fire TV Sticks, the issue seems to be exclusively with the LG C9’s specific client version (5.93.2). Given the age of the LG C9, I suspect this version may have a known, unpatched bug.

My Questions:

  1. Is this a known issue with the Plex App version 5.93.2 for older WebOS models (like the C9)?
  2. Is Plex still planning to release any future updates for this specific client version on the LG C9 platform, or is this version considered End-of-Life/Feature-Freeze?
  3. Are there any advanced network or server settings I might have overlooked that are specific to older WebOS clients?

Thank you for your help and insight!
