LG Official App can't connect yet Xplay does?

My media server runs on a system with port forwarding enabled - devices external to the network (mobile devices; other smart tv and consoles) can connect no problem.

However, the plex app on LG (which worked until a few weeks ago) now says that it cannot connect to my server.

Fortunately, the Xplay app on LG works just fine. Is there an issue with the LG app or is there anything specific I need to do to configure it to work?

The Xplay UI is not as intuitive as the official app so it is preferable to get the plex app going again.

Is your TV a UHD model

I don’t believe so. It’s a relative’s television - so more difficult for me to check readily.

If it’s a HD model, there are issues of support. Have said that, many have managed to make it work.

The relative, will need to access the TV App settings, top left and enter there Servers Manual LAN IP.
In General settings of app scroll to the bottom and allow insecure connections and fallback always.
In the Plex server Network settings, Secure connections, should be preferred
