Plex Server not available LG WebOS Smart TV

Server Version#: 1.18.2.2041
Player Version#: 04.70.01

My plex server is on my Macbook. It is linked to my LG TV. However, I get an error that the server is “OFFLINE OR UNREACHABLE”. The IP and Port is correct. Plex server is showing the LG TV as an authorized device.

I had all my settings checked with my ISP and Apple. They cannot explain why it won’t connect. HOWEVER, I also have 2 Roku players. Both are able to connect to the Plex Server and play content no issue.

This is a new LG Smart TV, all the other apps work great and there’s no issue. I have never been able to get the Plex App on the TV to work. I went through all the trouble shooting steps that Plex linked me to on Twitter and everything is as it ought to be.

I’ve been a Plex user for well over 5 years and have had multiple Roku players that work just fine. It’s only this LG Smart TV.

I saw a closed thread about it and people suggesting to unplug it, wait, and then plug it in. I did that. I also updated all the versions of Plex server and TV software. If it helps, I’m on Mojave OS.

Check settings re: secure connections. If PMS set to “secure connections disabled” and TV set to “secure connections required,” (or visa-versa) then TV cannot see the server.

FYI, Exact setting verbiage may be different. I’m away from systems at the moment.

Thank you! I can’t find the secure connection option on the TV (I went through all the menus). But, I changed to Disabled, Required, Preferred on PMS and kept clicking retry and it still wouldn’t connect. I’d love to know where I can find the setting on my TV though and Google isn’t helping. I’m open to other ideas. I really appreciate your help.
