New Plex server works locally with mobile phone app, but not locally with LG TV app, say's server is 'currently unavailable'

Hi folks, it’s my first time posting here so hopefully I’ve posted in the right place and in the right manner, apologies if not.

I’m having an issue getting my LG C1 TV to connect to my server, which is hosted on my PC on the same network. The server connects locally to the Plex app on my phone with no issues, however on my TV it just will not connect.

I am using a BT Smart Hub 2, if that helps, and have tried disabling my Windows Defender firewall as well as setting the LG TV app to allow insecure connections on my network. I have remote access turned off on my PC as I want to stream to my TV using my local connection.

I have seen folks talking about port forwarding but I’m a bit of a noob with this sort of thing and from what I can gather that might only be necessary when trying to stream remotely, outside of my local connection?

If anybody has any advice or tips, I’d be eternally grateful. I feel really frustrated that I can’t get it to work, especially as a lot of folks seem to suggest it should just be working automatically. Thanks for reading.

Thanks for the reply - I have already set my TV to allow insecure connections, and my server is also currently unavailable on my PS5 as well as my iPad too. It only seems to work via my iPhone app, so I don’t know if the issue is strictly with the LG tv or something else prohibiting the server from reaching all of these devices.
