LG TV Plex App freezes every time

No way for me to find the player version because it freezes so quickly. It’s an LG TV running the app store provided Plex program. I’ve watched movies and TV shows on this same TV at least 10 different times, different days or hours.

Now, all of a sudden, I start up the app, try to move to select a movie and it freezes. Nothing except shutting the whole TV off fixes it. I have remote access enabled, even if it’s on the same network. I can watch it no problem on mobile, my desktop, other TVs in the same house…

I searched for a similar issue, but the OP of that topic said it magically fixed itself. Any help would be great!

What model of LG?

Try removing power from the TV for ~30 sec, not just turning it off. This completely clears the TV memory. That sometimes helps when apps freeze.

If that doesn’t work, delete the app, power off for ~30 sec, and re-install. That ensures you’ll get the most recent version of the app.

Alright, I’ve tried that twice now and I still have that issue! Freezes anywhere, including in the settings.

I have a LG 55UB8200-UH TV. 55" if that makes any difference?

Just to make sure it is a supported model.

Rats. Pulling the power always clears things when the app hangs on my LG B7 OLED.

If you can’t get to settings then you can’t pull log files.

Not sure what else to try.

Same issue here, it’s an older LG TV and seems to have happened a server update or 2 ago. Have uninstalled/reinstalled a few times with no change.

Just ordered a Firestick for it, much nicer interface and it will then give me DVR functionality as well.
