LG webOS Plex 3.60.1 ... Who gave you the courage to release this garbage?

The pointer works but not the scrolling functionality of the MagicRemote.

And at the menu, “Exit” doesnt close the app?

And I cannot find the TV with Plex on my iPad. So no remote control anymore.

Ok so I personally don’t mind the design, and I love that Live TV and Alexa is now supported but

Twice now when I go back to resume the Plex app after leaving it for another app it has totally failed to start. Instead it says that it has to be completely reset, re linking the app with my phone. It did this before when I tried the preview (and is why I rolled back) so this really really needs to get fixed asap, constantly having to relink the app is going to break my use of Plex completely.

Please look into this fail to start issue!

I request a rollback also.
I am very happy with the old version, this is rubbish, how can you release this crap.
I see nothing from the Plex team…
Answer why put this crap up when the old version was working fine.

did some testing for you

  1. the scroller on the magic remote does NOT work from the main library however if you do a search and where it shows multiple results you’re now able to scroll across those titles

  2. there’s a highlighting bug as well when you for example search on release date where where it highlights multiple menu items

I don’t mind the design in the little I’ve used it, but it’s incredibly slow and I’ve had multiple full resets already.

Rollback or major bug fix release please.

My plex app needs to be reset at least 2 times a day. Any suggestions.

I found a suggestion to use Xplay (a Russian app) which emulates the old Plex. Demo version lasts for 5 days and about $AU13 for paid version - not sure if that is for all time or annual. Have installed and all my folders have reappeared and are functional - woohoo!
Like many of the correspondents above I was appalled by the “new” Plex 3.60.1. I have many movie and TV series folders for different genres and only the first (alphabetically) was available. Frustrating. One needed to search for any other movies or TV series.
The daily relinking of the TV back to the Plex server is also a pain. I don’t know whether Xplay will link automatically, but here’s hoping. It can’t be worse than the “new” Plex.
As a footnote, after years of providing an excellent media environment, Plex has really dropped the ball on this one. It cannot have tested 3.60.1 in any realistic settings, just assuming that the IOS format screen would work in the LG environment. Bad call.
But thank you Plex for the good work in the past; I have really appreciated what you have provided and that I can use Xplay over the Plex back end.

^ my sentiments exactly. I love Plex but this UI change is utter ■■■■ and a big step backwards functionally and aesthetically.

I came here only to post about this, and to my delight there’s already a heated thread associated with my exact problem right at the top. My LG OLED just updated to software version 04.71.00 last week when I noticed the different UI in Plex. I’m also troubled that the last version of “Plex for LG” is from September 2016. The UI is a small problem for me, but it’s definitely slower to react, less detailed, and requires me to link every time I open the app. I really don’t feel like attaching a 3rd party hardware to my TV input just to go back to the old Plex UI, but that is all I’m left with right now. Please work on this, Plex technicians. I’d hate for any of my friends and family following me on Plex who also have LG televisions to have to see the ugliness of this.

This UI is not user friendly, you need to learn how to use it to use it…that is stupid

We only use the web version now

If you are going to keep this abomination please provide skin options so we can decide to go back to something else

What were you thinking to release this version? You can do better then this… I am using plex on my Lg E6v for a couple of years now without any issues, until now. Do you hate Lg users for some reason or are you giving Samsung tv users the same horrible experience? I am really confused, so many bugs.

-Terrible looking and slow UI.
-User unfriendly movie library selection, I have more then one.
-Buffering issue(Seems to be fixed when selecting Allow Fallback… - On same network… in main settings) EDIT: Did not fix the issue
-Language selection doesn’t work.
-Magic remote wheel doesn’t work when scrolling.

Should I go on?

Are you going to fix this? Do a rollback? Or should I dust off my hardware mediaplayer.

EDIT: a positive remark, autoplay next episode in tv series, nice

Joined The Forum to post, Please how do we return to the old version, Got home from a week holiday to have it ruined by this. Didn’t even update tv so don’t understand how it is possible. I don’t have auto update enabled just to avoid eventualities like this. The Lg tv plex app was perfect for my uses the way it was and now it isn’t. Will either have to downgrade tv firmware or go to that russian Xplay app, neither ideal, but best options I have found so far.

Lots of issues for me too. Initially it would not connect directly, then it was constantly buffering, although all my other devices seem ok. Now, it won’t connect directly again. It also said that there was an issue and I need to re-link, but now back to not connecting directly again - so cannot play anything.

Plex just godt REALLY bad, apart from all the points in the original post, I also encounter a buffering icon, just a for a split second ever so often.

If I didn’t have lifetime I would cancel my sub too in protest. NOTHING in the new app is better than the old. How did anyone ever approve this redesign ???

Agree on all counts. My experience is even worse.

It’s completely broken on my LG B7.

I can get it to load once if I powercycle the TV, reset the app and relink it to my account. After that it does not start up. The previous version was fine.

Plex. Please respond!!!

Let us roll back. Or please provide instructions on how to do so. This UI is fec**** awful. I’m totally gutted and raging. Fix it!!!

The cosmetic stuff is one thing, but is anyone having trouble with subtitles?

I get constant “Buffering…” shown and the video stops every 2-3 seconds, completely unusable unless I disable subtitles. This is with 1080p HVEC. It seems enabling subtitles (SRT) causes transcoding (tried all burn subtitles options) and can’t keep up.

So it’s basically UNUSABLE now. Is there a way to get the old version back? Everything was working fine, why change it? Now I have 5 days with Xplay but have to pay money again to use Plex?? So disappointed… :frowning:

I also have issues with this last update. It runs really slowly, taking over a full minute to load sometimes. Also while watching I get a “Buffering” message pop up every minute or so now.

They changed the UI so that while viewing a show if you scroll over with the TV remote to skip to the next episode, then let the UI fade out, it defaults back to be on the pause button instead of skip so you have to scroll back with your arrow buttons every time the UI fades out.

My iPhone and iPad apps no longer see my TV. Also I cannot change the audio track with the TV app, it plays the secondary (german in this case) audio track no matter what you select in the UI.

What was wrong with the last version? I did not even get a prompt to update so why was this trash automatically installed on my TV anyway? I need a solution that works reliably and will have to look elsewhere if this isn’t fixed soon or we arent given an option to roll back.

Makes me miss the days of media center PCs with the files stored locally… There’s an idea!
