Opus audio will direct play via USB and Plex DLNA but transcodes to AAC when using the Plex app.
It seems that while it’s not officially supported (it’s not in LG’s list of codecs), it does seem to work. Can that be worked around?
The TV’s built in player is performing software decoding of opus, which is why it works. Unfortunately, that decoder isn’t available to other app so it can’t be used by Plex. There is not work around for this.
That’s very annoying on LG’s part. I guess that’s that.
