LG WebOS4 .7 - Secure Connections don't work

Server Version#: 1.18.7.2457-77cb9455c
Player Version#: 3.13.28

Hi!
I can’t get secure connections working on my LG TV.
I installed a letscrypt certificate on my plex server.
Third-party app xplay connects fine.
Web player on PC also works fine.
When I open the web player in the TV’s web browser, it also works fine.
But the official plex app is always complaining that it can’t establish a secure connection.
Setting “secure connections” to preferred is not an option. (arm set to required).

How can I fix this?

Thanks.

Is DNSSec broken on *.plex.tv domains?
When I enable DNSSec verification in my DNS resolver, the name resolution almost fails every time.

As far as I know secure connections on a LG are not supported. That does not mean your LAN traffic is not secure with your Local Server.

The Player/LG client version is not 2.1.3 that is a loader, your current version will be 4.27.1

Why do so many people think the loader in LG content store is app version.

Thanks for your reply.

But why can XPlay support this?

I do not have a clue, ask The Russian Guy Bublikoff

FWIW, I ran a quick test and secure connections work on my LG B7.

LG B7 OLED, WebOS 3.8, Plex client 4.27.1
PMS 1.18.8.2527 on Synology DS918+

PMS set to secure connections = required
Plex client set to “Never” for “Allow Fallback to Insecure Connections” and “Prefer Insecure Connections.” Also works with TV set to Local LAN Only and PMS set to Required.

I don’t have any options in the plex app/client to configure secure connections on the TV.

Plex app settings -> Main. Scroll to bottom.

Thanks but no such settings are there.

Also sometimes the app switches the language to spanish.

Don’t know. Maybe there are different settings for WebOS 4.7 vs 3.8?

Seems like that is the case.
The settings are exactly the same except for the last two options.
They are missing.
