Libraries are all now empty. Anyone else?

The only thing that has changed on my system is the install of the latest Windows 10 cumulative update (15 March). All my libraries are now empty and all previously showing content has vanished. The media files are still where they were and the file path hasn’t changed.
Has anyone else had the same issue and resolved it? I am still using the Plex Public update channel.

UPDATE: I have just done a database restore and everything is back to normal.

Is your media on local drives or some type of network share?

It is a network share. I’ve restored the latest database and everything seems back to normal. I will run a library update.
Can only assume the database (which is a local file) became corrupt somehow - possibly during the Windows update ??? - although I can’t be sure, obviously.

Looks like I spoke too soon. As each library is being scanned I can see the items being deleted from Plex. One at a time, first Movies, now music.
Fortunately, although the ‘media being deleted’ flag appears every time, it looks like the actual media files haven’t been deleted. Phew!
I’ve stopped the ‘update all’ mid-way and now have some empty and some complete libraries.
And now I’m confused…

sounds like plex is pointing to the wrong locations for files? Or the network drive changed and plex doesn’t think the files exist.

How do you have your shares set up in Plex? Do you have mapped drives? Shared by IP Address?

Personally, I opted to map by path, which would guarantee any shift in IP address wouldn’t change a thing:
\CARLDROBO\Video\Movies (forum won’t let me post double “”, which appear before CARLDROBO)

CarlDrobo is the name of the NAS on the network.

Yes, mapped by name although all nodes on my network have static IP’s. I’m beginning to think it is a permissions issue. I copied a bunch of media to my local drive, in my user area, and Plex now has no problem finding and indexing it.
I run Plex in my own user context and think that this permission has been broken between the local (Plex server) machine and the NAS.
I’d say a typical Windows ‘security solving’ solution - they just block everything and get the users to figure it out!!!

That could be likely. Also, double check your Antivirus exceptions. I’ve heard some sudden blocks can happen there as well.

Yes, thought of that. Just turned all protection off but symptoms still the same. Damn frustrating as my Plex system has been running for three years flawlessly. The only changes have been the last Windows update. I’ll try going back in time and see what happens…

Be sure the option Empty trash automatically after every scan is unchecked.
SETTINGS->SERVER->LIBRARY

This is getting beyond funny. Every individual library scan now deletes the items that were previously in there. Fortunately, the files themselves are not deleted - yet! I can see the file names displayed as the scan progresses, so assume the files on the NAS are being read correctly, but then Plex decides it hasn’t found anything and I end up with ‘No items in library’ dialog.
Emby has no problem locating my files.

I bit the bullet and completely rebuilt my server and installed a fresh copy of Plex. All appears to be working well, but my carefully manicured Plex front end is going to take a while to rebuild and get back where it was. My old Plex backups have not helped.
I’m still not entirely sure what caused the problem or what was really going wrong, and so I saw no way to repair it. Something to do with database permissions being corrupted I’m sure but I’ve no proof.

Server Logs would have had some clues
