Every time i restart the desktop my plex server is running on i lose all my libraries.
the content is on a NAS and i make sure the relevant drives are connected before i run plex but even so i still lose all the libraries and worse, the watched unwatched statuses.
Any ideas on why this could be happening ?
it doesn’t seem to matter what update i’m on which makes it even more frustrating.
Do you think it is worth rebuilding the plex server to see if that is whats causing the issue ?
Can you please detail what you mean be losing your libraries?
Do the actual libraries vanish or only their content?
If it’s only the content missing, this could imply you have automatic library updates enabled (Settings > Library > Scan my library automatically) in combination with Empty trash automatically after every scan. If Plex has trouble connecting to the NAS or runs into a timeout, this could then result in Plex dropping all the records it can no longer see.
Hey Tom
sorry, yeah i lose all the libraries from plex but the content is all still on the NAS, the other issue it brings is that i then need to setup all the libraries and shares again as part of it all.
I didn’t have the automatic library scan turned on but did have the empty trash automatically on, so i would assume there is a scan as soon as the server starts which is why it would empty the trash
