Libraries - Movies and/or Folders Setup

Edit the library, go to Advanced, DISABLE: Use collection info from The Movie Database.

Those items you see with 1 Movie within are Collections with only 1 Movie in them, stupidly generated by The Movie Database via the default Plex setting in the Libraries Advanced Section. Once disabled you will need to Deleted those Collections - hit the pencil ON THE COLLECTION - select Delete.

Also do this under all tabs for Shows and Movies to prevent embedded Title Field’s in MP4/M4V files from borking your matches and adding bogus names:

Move Local Media Assets to the bottom of the stack of active agents under ALL Tabs in Shows and Movies (Settings/Agents):

Red: Where it was
Green: Where it goes
(Drag and Drop)

Refresh Metadata should repair things afterwards, but if not a Plex Dance will:

Your individual movies should be in a folder - named exactly like the movie - with a proper movie file name:

A Movie Library Folder/
...47 Ronin (2013)/
......47 Ronin (2013).mp4
(for instance)

or, at least it’s not a bad thing if each movie is in it’s own folder, inside the Movie Library Folder. As your library grows you will wish you have them all in folders. Best to start now.

The reason is: if a Movie is in it’s own folder and nothing changes within it’s folder, it’s excluded from a scan. If you can exclude 10 thousand Movies that haven’t changed in a scan - you can save a LOT of time on a scan…and a LOT of wear and tear on the equipment (and your sanity)…lol
