Any ideas on how to fix the issue

Teddy

Are you meaning when adding Titles to library? If so In settings/Library/ Scan Automatically ( Enable)

Both scenarios

Have recently bought my first iMac and am having similar problems with content not updating in the library. All content is stored on external HDDs previously formatted in and used on old Plex Server on Win10 laptop. iMac is reading and writing normally to the HDDs courtesy of Seagate’s update drivers but Plex appears to be massively unstable since the move and updates appear to be sporadic at best. I’ve read the forums, followed the advice, still not working as it should. If anyone suspects there is an issue with the Mac Server software and has a known fix for the issues I’d be very grateful. Thanks guys.

I’m using Mojave with Two USB HDD from WD without issue on my late 2015 iMac. A few questions are you logged in as Administrator and or User with admin? Enabled auto Scan? Added Folders to Library with similar path as below.

Macintosh HD/Volumes/( Your Drive)/folder

PMS Version 1.13.9.5456

My Plex server worked for years no issues but my WD NAS died and replaced with a Synology DS 418 work for like a 2 weeks and then my TV shows stopped updating. I moved files around deleted folders from the Plex server re-installed updated to the latest version.

Could this be a corrupted Database and if so how do i resolved

Teddy

Try this first.

HI first off thank you for your help

I have a bunch of files in that folder

The file com.plexapp.plugins.library.db has not been open or used since April

I have been running my server for years without issue. I am still a little lost as to which file I should remain/delete to have a successful rebuild of the database

And would this be a good time to migrate my plex server now while maintaining my existing BD structure

Regards.

Teddy.

Hey, sorry for the delay in responding. I put High Sierra back on from Mojave via Time Machine and reloaded my entire movie folders again and this time, with a bit of manual assistance I got all my movies back into Plex. So then I started on my TV shows, but only after going back to Mojave. Now any additional content added to my Movies and/or TV shows refuse pointedly update.

All scans and folders are correctly configured but this is really starting to grind my gears now that the PMS seems incapable of recognising when new content is added.

Could it be that my external HDDs are all in NTFS? Seagate’s drivers are loaded and I can read and write in NTFS mode across all drives but Plex seems to be really struggling with this.

I got nothing! I’m clutching at straws now…

I use Paragon NTFS for Mac and they have a new version 15.4.11 for Mojave. It’s works very well in read and write.
