Library data disappeared after update to 1.26.2.5797

Server Version#: 1.26.2.5797
Plex Media Server Logs_2022-05-26_20-38-07.zip (300.8 KB)

Player Version#: Plex Web 4.76.1; Plex for Windows 1.45.0.3013-1676042f

I recently updated from server v1.25.3 to v1.26.2 on my QNAP NAS. Since the update, my library appears empty and I am greeted as if this is a new installation.

My media folders are all intact and haven’t been moved.

All media folders/files are permissioned drwxrwxrwx/-rw-rw-rw-. Nothing has changed there.

The update on qnap did hang a couple of times, and only after a couple of uninstall and reinstall attempts did it complete.

Is this recoverable? I can easily rebuild the libraries, but I’ve got a good many years of played/unplayed history in the library. So before I restart from scratch, I though I’d try to recover the database. (I don’t have a recent backup).

Similar problem here. Plex for Synology DS7 ver: 1.26.2.5797-7000

All content disappeared after the update. To specify, my assigned libraries were removed from the home screen. However, on my ATV client, I can choose “More” from the sidebar, highlight my server, and “Recently Added XXXX” appears and lists my recently added content, which plays as intended.

I have full access to my server and all files are intact and play through a 3rd party video player. But my libraries have vanished. Being that Plex still can play content that propagates in the “Recently Added” list, it seems this update simply removed my libraries from propagating at the client level. Everything is still there and working, it just doesn’t display on my home screen to grant me access to it.

Okay, after a week of this, somehow I fixed it within minutes of my first reply to you. It seems that the update released the server and you need to reclaim the server. I did this by going to: [IP address of server]:32400/web/

Ex. 192.186.1.55:32400/web

This took me to one of the original steps you take when running initial setup where you select and confirm the libraries you want. At that point, it took me into my plex web server client, and you go to Settings > Server Settings (left column) > General > choose “Claim Server”.

Once I claimed the server it propagated my content. Hope that helps!

That’s interesting. I don’t see “Claim Server”. Am I looking in the right area?

I also exported the database and had a browse with sqlite. Most tables are empty.

I found “Claim Server” after I clicked Sign Out on that settings page. I wasn’t asked to claim it after the update.

Well, it’s not a huge loss to add my libraries back in.

Yes, Scott, that’s the right page, but you don’t seem to share the problem. Where it says check for updates is where it would show “claim server”. Base on that it looks like you still have the server claimed.

What happens if you log out and go to the link I provided?
