I don’t think you understand. My kids used to be able to on view the moves that were rated G, PG, PG-13 from my library because of restrictions. They are not reviewing by folder, but by ALL. Now with the restrictions, they see “No content in this Library”. If I remove the restrictions, they see everything in the library. I don’t want them to see everything in the folder.
I am sorry but you have joined the wrong forum topic. The title of this thread shows it is specifically to do with view by folder. If there is an issue with content visibility for the normal view then please provide diagnostics / raise a separate forum topic and provide screenshots showing what permissions have been set for the Plex Home user and what restrictions set and what is visible and for what users and also provide a Plex Media Server.log with debug logging enabled for the time when the content is not visible. Full screenshots needed to show url and time of day when issue arises so it could be matched with logged entries
The latest software update fixed my issue and my kids are now enjoying filtered movies based on Ratings. Now I have an issue with my LG Smart TV Playz App not finding my PMS. I have verified that it is on the same subnet with the PMS, and it can connect via the browser, but when I launch the app it says that it can’t find the server on the local network. Weird.

Good news, I was not aware of any issue with ratings filter

Please stick to the subject of the forum topic as mentioned to you in my previous post. There is a support forum topic for PlayZ. It may be that you introduced Plex Home - I am not sure if it supports it yet.
This is the only thread in the forum that seems to describe the problem I have, although a previous post indicates this has been fixed, but not from what I’m seeing. My issue as follows:
I have Movies in a single movie folder and my managed users see the movies that their rating settings give them permission to – all good, and one of the reasons I went for Plex
However, for home movies (different folder structure) managed users with ratings set can’t see the folder structure and therefore can’t navigate to the videos (managed users without rating restrictions can see the folder structure) – all users can see the home videos when “All” selected.
As I have hundreds of home videos browsing by all isn’t a great experience, the folder structure breaks down by year / event
Am I missing something obvious is Library settings?

Is the library for the home movies setup as Movies category or Home Videos category>
I do not use the Restrictions feature so have no experience of using it but I see that it applies to Movies, TV Shows and Albums.
I will try and bring the subject up with the development team to look into if feasible to consider an enhancement to make Restrictions apply on library by library rather than globally
Thanks, yes, I did see this, but don’t think they necessarily understand the use case
It is frustrating, restrictions are perfect for commercial movies, but for home movies (especially when I have 100’s) it just isn’t useful as it stops the ability to organise in a meaningful way. As you say, If I did need to restrict home movies it would be best applied to individual libraries (or even library types) rather than everything

4+ years later I this problem still exists. I’d accept this is intended behavior if I could manually a G rating to all the Home Videos. But even adding a G rating doesn’t doesn’t allow users to view by folder - in a Home Video library.
