Hi Guys,
I seem to be having some small issues with media not refreshing correctly post being removed from my server.
For example I have removed an entire show (3 seasons circa 34 episodes) and said show still shows in Plex library when viewing online or via my Apple Tv.
I have done the basics in terms of refreshing the directory from the web interface as well as cleaning bundles/removing trash/refreshing the actual show but to no avail. I am keen to avoid an entire metadata force through as have customised a fair amount of it.
Running the latest version of Plex Server 1.1.3. 2700
Any suggestions?
Regards
Tylor
‘Refreshing’ downloads new metadata for a media item.
You want ‘Update Library’
If that doesn’t help, go and call up the mediainfo of one of the episodes of the show.
Take a note of where the show folder was supposed to live and how exactly it was named.
Now re-create this folder and put a small file into it. (a .txt file will suffice).
Update library, then empty library trash.
The behaviour you see happens, when you add a folder directly to the library (i.e. by editing the library and adding the folder on the ‘Add Folder’ tab). If now later this whole folder is erased, Plex considers it only temporarily absent (like when an external drive is unplugged).
Hi OttoKerner,
I tried the above but all three seasons are still showing, do I have to rename the txt file to the exact same episode name? (or do I have to recreate every episode name via a dummy txt file)
I recreated the folder structure and just put in a generix .txt fie, updated library and then emptied trash.

No.

This should be enough.
Edit your library and take a look at the ‘Add folder’ tab.
Are all of the paths in there still existing?
Do any of the paths end with a slash/backslash? If so, remove the trailing slash/backslash.
That was it OttoKerner
I had an old Tv directory listed in the library folder section, it’s never caused any issues with new media being detected (has been redundant for a while now). I removed & re-scanned and the problematic show has now gone, thanks again.
