Library scan not working properly

Server Version#: 4.132.2
Player Version#: Windows Desktop last version

Plex can’t see new files. When I start a manual scan, only empty folders appear. Restarting the Plex server doesn’t help; only a full Windows server restart temporarily fixes the problem. After the server restart, the scan works for about 30 minutes. I have full access to the movie folders, so this is not a permission issue.
How can I fix this frustrating problem? I don’t want to restart the server every time to fix the library scan.

Additional details:

  • Plex server is running on Windows 2022 Server.
  • Movies are hosted on a TrueNAS SMB folder.
  • The SMB folder is mounted in Windows Explorer and is fully accessible.

Folders appear inside your Plex movie library? I’m not sure what this means, I didn’t think you could have folders in a movie library.
