This is a follow up regarding the issue that I reported back in October 2020 where the scan time with the new agents/scanners are really slow compared to the legacy ones. If the new scanner has to scan a different root folder, it will slow down considerably whereas this doesn’t happen with the legacy one. This also affects the new TV Agent/Scanner and it looks like I’m also not the only one with this issue.
Below are the scan time results, everything was already scanned in and processed. My 4K library has multiple versions of a movie, regular and remux which are on different drives/folders.
Legacy Movie Agent/Scanner on my 4K Library: 33 seconds to complete
New Movie Agent/Scanner on a new 4K Library: 4 minutes and 5 seconds to complete.
@drzoidberg33 Sorry to tag you but will this issue ever get fixed?
The initial fix for this was scrapped as it made some database schema changes that were just not worth the risk.
I quickly revisited this and think I’ve got a much simpler fix which doesn’t involve any database changes, the fix is in review now and I’ll follow up next week.
This would be great as I have the same issue! What’s that review process like? In a perfect world how long would this process be until it’s implemented?
