Library scans and Metadata collection taking an hour longer than it used to

Hi,

I have come across a really annoying issue today.

When scanning libraries Plex usually takes 1-5 minutes to collate and collect all of the metadata for the movies that are added and it is perfect 100% of the time, I have never had issues with this before.

Today, I added some new movies to one of my libraries as I always do and moved some from one library to another (again, something I have done many times without issue) however, the scanning and metadata collection is taking upwards of an hour and for some movies, it simply isn’t working anymore.

I have rolled back to an older database, I have tried restarting both the server and the machine that the server is on to no avail.

I can not find anything online or on the forums that seems to give a definitive answer on this, anyone who seems to have had the issue stops responding after a while so I can only assume they managed to fix it.

Can someone please help with this?

EDIT : Probably should also mention, I have also optimised database, cleared bundled etc… too.

If you have the same problem as me it only happens to music libraries.

nope, happening to movies :frowning:

Odd. I only get it on music. Movie and TV scan fine.

Like I said, it seems to only have been today.

I have never had this issue before, I have been pulling my hair out fo 5 hours trying to fix this.

First, Is there anything quantitative you can add to help us help you diagnose the issue? Help us catch up to where you’re at?

Is this a naming issue ?
an issue with a particular agent ?
TVDB/TMDB peering point at the backbone for your ISP

What about your local resources and config? Wired or running on a congested WiFi ?

I have one of the slowest internets going so if I can match with the names you have, it will help us know which way to start focusing closer.
