Hi There,

All access to my server seems to have broken, other than directly via IP in a web browser. Plex is running on Ubuntu, and I’m accessing the web server via windows on my local network. https://plex.server.local.ip:32400 works just fine from a PC, and lets me play content. When I try to access my server via app.plex.tv (or with any apps on mobile devices) the server is unavailable. I turned on debug logging, and see the following:

It seems based on a previous forum post, this may be an issue that needs to be fixed by the Plex team (@ChuckPa ): SSL Certificate Errors - #1433 by ChuckPa

Or perhaps I’m having a different issue entirely. Checked open ports using netstat, and see the required ports (and obviously can connect via 32400 remotely). Upgraded to the most recent version, rebooted multiple times. Not sure what else to try.

First, Turn off IPv6 in Settings - server - Network - Show Advanced.
You don’t have an IPv6 LAN. It will always complain if you don’t set it right.

Your certificate was “pending”, which is a new one to me.
I reset it for you.

Stop the server, wait 10-15 minutes, then start it up.

Make certain you don’t see any HTTP 429 errors.
If you do, shutdown again and wait an hour :frowning:
(Plex.tv has throttled your IP)

Thank you @ChuckPa ! That seems to have done the trick! I don’t believe I’m seeing any 429 errors either. Why would plex have throttled the IP?

Your certificate went to renew.
Somewhere in the process, it got itself stuck (let’s encrypt negotiation or something).

That left you with ‘Pending’ status (waiting for the new cert to be ready).

It never came but the old cert was gone.

You got throttled because it didn’t want to get overloaded with certificate requests while one was pending.
