Limit simultaneous connections of shared accounts

I have an account shared out to other users. I would like to see the ability to limit how many active connections they can have to my library at any given time (preferably with a customizable comment pop up)
I have had an issue with them sharing their accounts out to many devices or unsure how to remove from their old authorized devices that have left their possession eating bandwidth on my end. If i could limit them to 1-2 active connections with a pop up that says something like contact me if there is an issue it would be very helpful :+1:

you mean like this ?

regarding old devices, you can remove old/unused devices that are on YOUR account and/or HOME users @ settings > authorized devices.

for normal shared users, you can only remove the user, not the user devices (shared user devices are not shown in your authorized devices list)

Thanks TeknoJunky that is helpful ill check it out.

-If not possible id still like to see this adjustable on an account level, some people abuse, others dont.

-If im understanding the details on removing devices this would apply to only my account or users on my Home Network. Thats fine though ill just have to attempt to educate other users on their accounts v.s. just doing it for them.

-Id like to remove users as a whole as a last resort giving them a chance to correct the behavior first but ill see what i can do with the remote stream options for starts.

Thanks again!

Make a new library. Give 'em access to only that library for a week or two.
Here’s two video files you can add to the library that might get your point across.
UnauthorizedPlexAccess.7z (138.2 KB)
UnauthorizedPlexAccess
UnauthorizedPlexSharing.7z (244.7 KB)
UnauthorizedPlexSharing

I doubt they give us more user control that would benefit people who attempt to sell plex server access.

Regarding old user devices, it really is irrelevant, because even if you remove a user device, as long as they are an authorized user they can simply log back in to any device with their plex account and access any plex servers they are shared with.

If you have recurring problems with users giving or selling devices that are logged into an authorized shared user account, then you have bigger problems.

In theory, you should not be sharing your server with people who you can’t trust or immediately talk to (ie friends/family).

You are absolutely correct. Removing devices make no difference as long as the offenders have valid access to your server. You must ban the user. I know that OP only wants to do this as a last resort.

@mrcthisb
If you feel the offends are trying to correct their infraction but are still having problems then tell them to change their password AND de-auth(sign out) their devices.
Ask them to go here https://app.plex.tv/desktop#!/account
And select password. From there they can change password and require all devices to sign out.
