I would not expect it to work on older versions of Plex Media Server as there was a bug in that “Limit to Airing Time” code
Do you still have examples of this ? or have you recreated all the schedules. I tried to reproduce what you have said
So I had an airing scheduled using Limit to Air Time 01:10 am 1st August using a 1.9.3 version of Plex Media Server (and the time was out by 1 hour as expected with the bug).
I upgraded to the current beta 1.20.0.3133 and checking the scheduled recording advanced setting - it is now showing as limited to air time 00:10 am 1st August - the correct airing time)
Looking at the log, I can see it counting down to 00:10 am 1st August from today and I expect it to record then
Are the scheduled recordings all series/shows as opposed to future episode recordings.
If you still have ones that you expect to go wrong, could you give me details of the lineup/region, channel numbers and channel names, series name / episode, the air times and what was specified as the air time to limit to and what it shows now together with some screenshots and server logs

I sent you an alpha build - version 1.20.0.3147 with a potential fix
Let me know if it does and please let me have debug logs and details of what was scheduled using “Limit to Airing Time” if it does not
Thanks

I tried to record “Inside Edition” at 4:30 pm on channel 5. The DVR has stopped the one hour offset, however this time it recorded nothing. I have the same issue with Saturday Night Live.
Feedback received is that for the fix to work, the existing DVR schedule for the series needs to be deleted and recreated. I will have a look at the logs tomorrow
I deleted the recording for the series and recreated it. The recording will not work if I restrict it to the time I want.
I will get you another alpha build when ready
Due to some issues, we had to pull back the intended fix that was going to be in the next 1.20.0.xx beta. The plan now is to provide a fix in 1.20.1 - I will get an alpha build available when we reach that stage
So the next 1.20.0.xx beta will have same behaviour as public release 1.19.5.3112 for this issue
@c_k_hooper_gmail_com I sent you today an alpha build for the 1.20.1 release - 1.20.1.3187
This changes the way the problem was addressed in the earlier 1.20.0.3147 alpha.
To use the 1.20.1 version, please delete the schedules that were created with Limit Airing Time and re-create them on 1.20.1 - This is necessary because the changes to how the issue got fixed from the earlier 1.20.0.3147 alpha
Thanks
Hi, I’m having the same issue too with a Netgear Readynas server … so I’m wondering if anyone is testing the alpha release above? I’m not but hopefully someone else is!
I’m also having the same issue with the latest beta. Please let me know if I can also help test the alpha
I too am having the same problem. There is nothing wrong with my systems time. I had this problem when my Plex ran on its own server and now on ESXi 6.7. The host time is correct so is my Windows domain time server, they are all perfectly in sync otherwise my 2FA systems would refuse to run. So it would seem the issue lies within Plex itself.
Please escalate this issue to a higher tier who know’s what they are doing, instead someone who’s only mission is to push it back on the user.
Thanks,
Same here, DVR getting 1hr ahead, preventing any recording to occur. running Version 1.20.0.3181 with HDhomerun DUO
A fix is coming out in the next beta which will be version 1.20.1.xx
A fix has now been released in Plex Media Server beta 1.20.1.3213
See Release Note: Plex Media Server
- (DVR) Server would display incorrect times under “Limit Airing Times To” advance recording option (#11362)
N.B. Downgrading from this release may result in DVR recordings with an airing time restriction failing.
So if ever downgrading from this beta release, any DVR schedules created with “Limit to Airing Time” would need to be deleted and recreated.
Also any using the special early alpha build 1.20.0.3147 i sent out - should recreate the Limit to Airing Time schedules with the new version
(Note: there is still a Plex Web display bug relating to use of “Limit of Airing Time” where there may be occasions when the “DVR Schedule” and “Recording Priority” show the wrong times - this does not affect the actual scheduling that Plex Media Server is using and is just a Plex Web display bug that will get fixed)
I am using the new beta release and it successfully noted the correct air time choices and the recording was successful. Looking great!!! Thank you.
The times seem to be fixed now. But now when I schedule a recording, it looks like it worked, then within 1-2 seconds the guide switches and shows it is not scheduled to record (plex web). No errors, just immediately loses the recording.
I’ve tried setting the recording through the iOS app and that way it sticks. However, back in Plex Web, under DVR Schedule, the recording is there but says “No upcoming airings”. In the guide its marked to record.
I will confirm tomorrow if it actually records.
Could be that the airing / episode is already in the library or it thinks it is.
Run with debug logging enabled - not verbose and capture logs when the recording fails to continue

This does seem to be fixed now. Many thanks
This appears to be broken again with the latest release. Now there is no airing time to select, it only has “Any” listed in the dropdown. Reverted to the fixed beta version listed in this thread and the Limit to Airing Time is properly populated again.
