Live Channels not matching guide

Is anyone having issues with channels not matching the guide ? My Roku ultra works perfect. Amazon fire stick, PS4, android tv all have channels that are swapped around and don’t match up with the channel guide.

All of these are connected to plex? Cause the guide should not change across devices I don’t think… It’s hosted on the server, so what is there for one of them, I assume should be there for all of them…

Yes. All are connected to my server running Plex. The guide is the same throughout all devices. But the ones I listed will have for example “channel 44.2 from antenna on the guide. Then when I click on that channel, it’s actually channel 36.2” Everything works perfect on the Roku Ultra tho…

Right, but that’s why I asked… they shouldn’t be different as long as they’re mapped correctly server side… something is definitely going on, I just don’t know what…

Strange that two different apps are wrong: Plex for Android (which runs on Amazon Fire stick and Android TV) is wrong as well as different app being wrong - Plex for Playstation. But Plex for Roku app is ok.

What about Plex Web on the desktop ? https://app.plex.tv or http://ip-of-server:32400/web

I will try and reproduce your setup.

Could i have country / zip code / lineup selected in DVR setup and also if you go to setup and click on the xx enabled channels list, then get screenshots for the mapping of the channels that you say are wrong - and please give details of these channels that appear wrong

Also versions of the apps being used on the roku and android devices and PS4

I am using the Plex web interface to view iptv channels mapped to a guide with an emulated hdhomerun that I am in the process of setting up. I started having an issue with the guide opening the wrong channel so I simplified things by making a simple channel lineup of only 45 stations and made sure the m3u file has valid and seemingly unique channel IDs. I randomly opened channels in the guide and compared it to the channel label. I have found many channels that the guide opened the wrong channel altogether. I might have thought it was my mistake if the channel label was correct, but it was altogether the wrong channel.

I just tested it on my droid phone and had incorrect channels BUT has an image for the media that should have been shown… !

I tested each guide channel and compared it to what channel plex was telling me it was tuned to. I found many errors, the wrong channels were being tuned to but oddly enough got some non-repeating results. So when I went to channel 1002 on 3 different attempts I was actually tuned to 1028, 1027 and 1027 again. This was not the only guide channel to tune to several other channels.

I went back and inspected the m3u and EPG/XML data. There is only 1 playlist entry for each station, 1 channel definition for each station and many programme definitions as it should be. There were no other entries with the same IDs that might interfere. The channel data is not the source of the issue. Plex is making errors on the channel selection from the guide. It is undetermined if other channel links are affected, such as the recommended section.

This problem is common enough throughout the guide to consider the entire TV area broken and unreliable.

Re-test, next day
So I went through each channel again the next day to compare guide channel with tuned channel. I found channels that did not work the day before working 100% properly and other channels that were fine, tuning to the wrong channel now… This error does not seem specific to any channel, affects all channels loaded and is inconsistent in result.

Later that day, I pressed on and added a few 100 more channels. I did not check every one but every one I checked seemed to have worked correctly. Note, on every update of channels like this, the Plex DVR is removed and reinstalled from scratch.

I have exactly the same issue. I’m using a 2019 Shield TV with Plex installed, and updated to 7.24.3.13840. The guide data running on my server, using a browser is correct but the app installed on the Shield is wrong. Some channels are completely missing and the ones that are present, have odd regions assigned to them. Even after changing the guide data, they simply reappear with the same incorrect guide for that channel. I’ve tried completely removing and resetting up the tuner/guide, same result.

This is easily the weakest part of plex. I’ve been very patient with this, whilst plex develop this capability, but it’s fast becoming a total pain in the backside. If this was a free product, I wouldn’t feel so aggrieved - but this feature is a paid for service!

The preceding post appears to have been about an xmltv setup - if I understand it correctly. With an xmltv setup, the EPG data comes from the xmltv file

I have just tried the Plex app version 7.24.3.13840 and I am not sure what you are referring to

Could you complete a refresh of the guide on the server and try again and get me screenshots of the issue and tell me exactly what is wrong

Is it on the “Guide” tab ?

I have also the same issue… on Plex Web and Amazon Stick… some channels is missing… on tune wrong channel … but the info on the guide is ok and the data for the epg came from SD and Iptv-EPG

I will give you a video and screenshot later…

screenshots + server debug logs after you view the guide and you see the discrepancies

Also please let me know exactly what is displayed wrong and what the tuner channels are that are wrong

So is this an xmltv file setup where the channels and guide info come from the xmltv file?
If it is, please zip and attach with the server logs

UPDATE* After seeing your reply I ended up deleting my channel list and researched for OTA channels, I came to the conclusion that subchannels were automatically assigned the call sign for that antenna’s sub channels but a few were out of order. So, once I assigned the correct subchannel name, it all matched up correctly on the plex guide. Still not sure why the Roku Ultra app still had it showing up correctly and my other devices did not. Thanks for the help!
