Live TV crashes at 3 minutes when new show starts *Updated*

It is the call from the android app to the server.

I believe the android app is treating each “show”, individually as a “DVR event” in the call, which would stop the action and release the tuner,… instead of as a “live event” which should NOT release the tuner and continue playing the channel.

A build with the fix has been created and will be released soon:)

According to who?

I’m on vacation so I’m hopping off here for a while. But before I went I tested a APK by one of the Developers. It works and it works great. It just has to be released now!

I have been using this software for about 6 weeks now. I can honestly say, for all the hype that comes with it, this is one of the poorest, least equipped services I have seen. It is heavy on eye candy which I can see the appeal of but unfortunately, the actual function is a joke.

To expect us to pay you for this level of service is insulting. I will be using the remainder of this first and only month’s subscription to revert to software that does work.

What a joke!

I am having the same issue here… Running Plex on a Synology DS918. My streams are feeding from xteve and run for 2 to 10 minutes before breaking up… Happens on iOS, Mac App and my Sony Google TV.

Yes, I’ve been saying basically the same thing for 3 years now – The bells and whistles don’t matter when the core functionality isn’t there. Glad you only bought a one month pass. Me, not so lucky …

It’s almost like a social experiment to see how bad something can be and still have people duped into paying money for it.

Live TV & DVR starts in the paused state on Plex for Android 8.25.0.28665.

Live TV & DVR randomly pauses itself while playing.

EPG is not advancing forward as the time changes. XMLTV.

I’m having the same issue. EPG is not advancing forward with time. And I get the circle of doom on channels where it will just go black and stop streaming. I updated my synology plex server, and that was supposed to be one of the fixes, but it is still happening. I usually have to physically hit stop on the remote, go to the guide and advance it to the current time, and then I can try opening the channel again. Sometimes it works, sometimes I have to force plex closed and retry.

I completely upgraded my server. Paid several hundred dollars for a cpu/gpu that said it could handle streaming/transcoding/ the whole 9 yards. But in practice, I seem to have about as many stoppages as ever. Plus, when I open the guide, it sometimes takes literal minutes for the guide to finally populate. I was so bummed when I lost WMC, but they plex promised to make things better, but I feel like it’s just been getting worse and worse of an experience, and I don’t understand how that is possible.

I may have found a solution.. It works pretty well for me so far, see here:
