I decided to finally start using this now that Live TV is present. I setup my first recording (Red Sox) and noticed it prompted me with a bunch of conflicts… Is Live TV recording everything or something?
same issue
so it actually recorded all these things too…
What kind of hardware(Tuner technology) do you have, and what were you trying to watch when these failures occurred.
Remember you only have a set number of tuners for both Live TV and DVR. So if you have a HD Homerun connect/Extend with 2 tuners and you have two tv’s watching Live TV then you have no tuners available to record shows.

I have an HDHomeRun Prime. It has 3 tuners. I wasn’t trying to record or watch anything live. All I did was set up a recording for a mlb game later in the night and upon doing that I noticed I got conflicts. When I went to list of conflicts I noticed my DVR was recording as many live items as it could (3 at the time) despite me not watching any of them anyways or adding any of them. When I deleted the baseball game it all went away. When I re-added it, they all came back.
mine did this as well… I had a previous recording set for all NFL games for my team. That seemed to have somehow prompted it to record everything on all the major channels. I canceled the previous NFL recording which seems to have fixed it.

So basically sports are screwed? haha. Anywho, I also noticed that I can’t tell it to keep only X number of games. I understand it might not show as a series, but we should at least have the ability to delete episode after X number of days no?
I also had the same issue for my multi-event scheduled recording. I had configured a recording for all Real Madrid Games for champion league and after attempting to watch a live program from my iPhone, the server suddenly had about 10 shows in the scheduled recording screen and it ended crashing my server. After that I had to remove all my scheduled recording shows and HDhomerun boxes to stop the server from crashing on startup.
I have the same Issue when I updated to the Server to v1.7.2 all the scheduled team recordings (i.e. Washington Redskins) were causing, what seemed like, everything to record. It was so much it caused the Plex server to crashing every 10 min and ended up locking up my HDhomerun Prime.
Today i updated to Server v1.7.3 and tried adding the Washington Nationals to the recording schedule and again caused to much unwanted shows to be recoded.
anything from devs on this one? does anyone want logs? It is pretty easy to reproduce.
Hello I also have this same issue and also have the HDHomeRun Prime. Although my recordings were setup a long time ago the new live TV recordings which i did not setup are all creating conflicts for the things I actually do want recorded. This is ridiculous and ultimately defeats the purpose of having this DVR setup. Plex really needs to look this considering the last person to post was over a month and half ago. If there is a solution can someone please direct me to it?
I think i found the solution… Update HDHomeRun Prime to newest firmware 20170808beta2 and all should work properly with Live TV and DVR. There should now be no conflicts. I don’t know if whatever was causing this was addressed in an earlier firmware since the last time i had updated the firmware on my prime was sometime in 2016 but is all working as it should with the firmware i stated above.
While updating Prime’s firmware, as I suggested in my last post helped a great deal. I still had conflicts. But I think I have found the solution to that as well. I suspect this is an issue for others. I had setup (long before live TV came to Plex) to have every Packer’s football event recorded. (I assume if you have every event for your football team set to record this is your issue as well) But, after the Live TV addition for some reason that extended to local news and because local news is on all the time on local channels it created conflicts everywhere. So I canceled the recording that removed the conflicts. I now have to manually set to record one by one my Packer games but, its better then conflicts and nothing being recorded. Can someone from Plex look into this? I would like to “set it and forget it” and know there will be no conflicts, and of course be able to watch my DVR’d Packer games.

thanks for this, apparently my Channels app which has been “updating” the HDHomeRun firmware hasn’t been, mine is from dec 2015
lol. Updating now.
