Live-TV (default-)resolution is too low in PlexWeb

Server Version#: 1.25.8 / 1.25.9.5721
Player Version#: 4.78.4 (Chrome)
Tuner Make/Model: FritzBox 6490 Cable
Guide/Lineup name:
Using XMLTV?:
Channel number/Name: any

The default on SD channel - resolution is only 480p.

The default in HD channel is: (720P)

1080p

maybe caused by limitation: (but i’m at home)

Is Plex seeing this as local or remote?

good point, same order:
Local, but remote IP…

480p

576p (max)

720p

original (max)

1080p (8Mbit)

1080p (original)

Same computer, but Plex for Windows:

looks good…

…right IP but wrong speed!?

Also the 1080p channel:

The browser client will transcode anything that isn’t already H.264 and those are already pretty low bit rate streams so loss of quality is expected. Plex for Windows will direct play/stream MPEG2 so no further loss in quality.

sure, but that’s not the point…
It’s possible to switch manually.

but why is plexWeb choosing 480p and not 576p
and why it’s set to 720p -4Mbps and not to Original.

It seems, only Android show the right speed…

set to Original:

but no… Plex for Android shows “MP2 Stereo” while the server say AC3 5.1.
Default Quality is set to 720p 40 Mbps
when i set to original, you can only go back to “720p (high) - 4Mbps” and lower, nothing between 40 and 4.

What are your Plex Web - Quality settings?

Transcoding the audio will transcode the video, and it will default to computer resolutions not TV.

also in first post

btw Android and iOS shows 40MBit/s for SD channel…but it’s only 4 Mbit/s
