Live TV & DVR not available to Android Plex Clients

Had to rescan channels to keep up with frequency changes. Two odd things happened:

  1. The server now sees 2 DVR devices. I configured them both.
  2. Android clients can no longer connect to the Live TV/DVR panel. Error message: “{servername} is Currently Unavailable.” Reconnect fails 100%

Notes:

  • All other content works and is plays fine.
  • LIve TV/DVR works from LG TV, local browser and Mac Chrome client

Server Version#: 1.19.3.2764 (Windows 10)
Player Version#: Android TV (Shield) & Mobile: 8.0.1.17410
Tuner Make/Model: WinTV-quadHD
Guide/Lineup name: Broadcast TV San Fran/Sacramento OTA Broadcast
Using XMLTV?: No
Channel number/Name: N/A

Similar issue here.

Plex Android App shows multiple “LIVE & DVR” tiles but non of them actually work (Currently Unavailable is displayed). I only have one DVR configured.

Aslo sometimes Plex reports that the DVR is offline or cannot be reached but in reality the DVR works just fine. If i restart Plex server everything goes back to normal.

If i can help in any way to troubleshoot, let me know

Uninstall then re-install the android app to clear out the dead links.

Although that seems to fix the issue, i wouldn’t consider it a solution to the problem.
The Bug is still there we are just making our way around it.

Can someone from the Dev team look into this?

You can also go into the phone’s settings, under “apps & notifications”, select the Plex app, select “Storage & cache”, and hit both trash-cans (clear storage, clear cache). Probably could just clear cache, but I did both just in case. As an aside, the app sped up quite a bit, as well. Seems like they may be getting corrupted cache somehow.

Fire TV as well.

As you can see, the non-working Live TV & DVR is grayed out. I simply pinned the working one to my sidebar. I don’t really care what else is going on outside my pinned stuff.
