Server Version#: 1.19.3.2764
Player Version#: Android App 8.0.1.17410
Tuner Make/Model: AVerMedia AVerTV Volar Hybrid Q, USB TV Tuner
After rescanning for TV channels on my existing setup with the same server and tuner (got a newer antenna with better range) I can no longer watch live TV on my phone. It works fine on my desktop/server and on my Roku sticks. However, when I try to access live TV on my Android I get an error “Please verify that the server is running and has a network connection”. All devices are on the same LAN
Oddly, I can access other media such as movies and TV shows which are already downloaded just fine.
I’ve cleared the app from my phone and restarted my phone as well as the PMS software and entire computer.
I am having the same issue outside my home with family members that have access to my Live TV through Plex. It works fine for me, but others, using the FireTV Plex App get a message saying “An Error Has Occurred, Please try again later.” However, they can stream movies and shows from my library just fine.
Any ideas why this would suddenly stop working for them?
I was wondering if I was alone. I can run LiveTV through the web app, through a Roku client, but not through the Plex app on my Android phone. Just haven’t gotten around to tailing logs. I can play everything else, but LiveTV comes up with an error that PMS is not online, check network. Clearly incorrect as I can play stored media just fine.
I had this happen some time ago on one of my Android phones. I was able to get Live TV working by going into the Android phone settings -> Apps -> Plex - > Storage. From there I cleared both app storage and cache, then uninstalled the Plex app, restarted the phone, then reinstalled the Plex app.
Then I ran the Plex app, at which point it was like the Plex app was running for the first time: log in, selecting media libraries to pin, etc.
I have the exact same version number of the Plex App installed on my FireTV box. The problem that I’m having with the Plex App is that on “Live TV”, the video/audio freezes at 3 minutes past the top of the hour. Also it frequently freezes when I attempt to time-shift the video back to an earlier place in the stream.
This worked for me as well. Apparently removing and installing again wasn’t enough and it kept some remnants of broken config. Forcing a delete on storage however cleared that and everything is working again.
