I guess I won’t report the error to Plex. Because there’s no way to report an error to Plex that I can find. It appears that Plex essentially has no technical support department other than these forums.
But I did more digging around the forums and found this post:
that solved the problem for me. Basically you open a page to your plex server using it’s IP address instead of a normal URL. For some reason doing that avoids the error. Having gone to the setup screen this way, I deleted the old DVR setup and now I can get to that screen the normal way just fine.
