I loaded succesfully my AverMedia HD Q and that is working fine on Avermedia 3D. I cannot get Plex to see this device in the Livd DVR setup.

The media server most likely won’t be able to find it while other software is using it. Please uninstall the other software, and then attempt to add it to the server again.
Not working either way. I have Avermedia HQ tuner. I loaded the software to run the scanning of channels and I can watch tv through my pc. WHen I launch Plex, and want to setup the DVR through the server, it just spins. I tried it with and without avermedia 3D program running in the background.
PS. I have window 7, x64. It is connected through my modem via wifi.
Your reply was to remove Avermedia software, but that made no sense since I need it to scan my channels and setup my tuner. Otherwise, my pc does not know I have a tuner plugged in.
I paid a full year of Plex and can’t even use it (only can see my pics, pc items on my tv …kind of pointless since I want to cut the cord. Is there a complete video on seting the tuner and troubleshooting items?
It also says to type the address of the device manually if it cannot find it. How can I find that out?

You will need the driver for the tuner device but as mentioned the other software can cause issues with Plex finding the device. See notes below the supported tuner list on the Supported Tuners Page.
Windows: “WinTV 8” (for WinTV tuners) or “AVerMedia TVBox” (for AVerMedia tuners) software might conflict with Plex Media Server’s use of the tuner. If you have issues tuning channels, please remove this software, install only the driver for your tuner, then attempt to scan channels again.
I did windows update and have rebooted. I will try again tonight. I found an exclamation pont under the Avermedia device in Device Manager.
It maybe the culprit. If the update doesn’t resolve this device manager issue, and Plex still not finding my tuner, I will only keep the driver for tuner and try again.
