Suddenly I can’t tune any channels on my tuner. Worked fine prior to server update. Using a Hauppage QuadTV PCIe tuner. Worked fine prior to server update. Same result with multiple clients. I’ve had this a few times, now even going back to an older server version didn’t fix the problem. I can’t believe this hasn’t happened to anyone else.

This is not the first time I’ve had this issue. I’m seriously considering seeking a refund for my lifetime plex pass, since they seem to be more interested in their ad supported content than they do their paying users.

A search of this forum shows that there are a lot people with this same issue and no response from Plex at all. Does anyone responsible for the software actually look at these forums or are we all just on our own?

Note that you didn’t say which clients you were using. There was a problem with Android which may have been fixed now. Now it sounds like there might be a problem with the web client.

But yes, for Live TV/DVR, we seem to be on our own. I have an ongoing thread about a serious problem with regular posts that was completely ignored for well over a month. Plex seems perfectly content to leave major functionality broken in Live TV/DVR broken for months/years at a time.

Well what happens is people move to new platforms that actually work.

Interesting thing I tried. Now keep in mind I’m running PMS on a Server 2019 standard edition server with a Hauppauge WinTV Quad PCIe card which is listed under supported tuners for PMS. I performed a complete uninstall of PMS including killing the registry key and deleting the databases. I then did a clean install of the latest version of PMS (1.24.5.5173). When I tried to set up the Live TV and DVR functionality it never recognized the tuner. It just sat with the damn orange circle spinning for hours. Wouldn’t work AT ALL. I invested in a lifetime Plex Pass specifically to use that function that apparently no longer works in newer versions of Plex. So I killed the new version and installed the much older version 1.21.3.4046 and it seems to work fine. I’m so disappointed in the Plex development team. It is completely clear to me now that they are far more concerned with making sure they can get ad revenue from their ad supported platform than they are in taking care of the people who have directly paid them for their product.

So now the live tv and dvr function stopped working correctly after working fine for a couple of weeks. I just get the message “Cannot tune channel. Please check your tuner or antenna.” After removing the DVR from Plex completely and re-adding it, it worked for about ten minutes then quit again. It’s too bad that the developers don’t give a damn about this function, even though it’s promoted as one of the reasons to invest in a plex pass. This is becoming infuriating and nobody who can fix it seems to give two ■■■■■.

Your signal levels could be low especially if it’s limited to certain channels. Live TV & DVR works great for me.

I happy it works for you. My signal levels are fine, it’s worked fine for the last 2 weeks and suddenly it won’t tune any channels. I’m not the only person who constantly has problems with this feature and I have yet to have any person from plex reply to one of these threads to offer help,. This is supposed to be where users who PAID THEIR MONEY for a plex pass come to for support, but it’s non existent for this feature. It’s pathetic. They didn’t seem to have any problem charging me for the plex pass.

Turn on debug logging and replicate the problem then immediately fetch server logs and post them along with the time it happened.
