Update
Working with user @z-squared over last 24 hours, I can confirm now that the second issue of tuning timeouts caused by transcoder error logging - seen on linux - is now also resolved
The fix will be in 1.16.0.x which is currently in QA Alpha Testing
Do these channels tune ok using the DVR manufacturer Application?
If they do, please run with debug enabled, restart the server to get fresh logs and then test tune a channel. When you get the failure, note down the time and get the logs
I may need channel capture using curl - but initially just logs and confrimation that the channel that fails does tune ok and fast using the DVR manufacturer app
I can see that it is using the Plex Tuner Service as opposed to directly driven by Plex Media Server through the network. Is this an old HD Homerun tuner ?
You have not provided all the logs zip so i cannot see how the Plex Tuner Service handled the request. Also by just giving me one log and part of it, it does not give a complete picture, Also the extract does not show the version of Plex Media Server and does not tell what the platform is.
Could you also get me a 2 minute stream capture from that channel
Sorry, new to this. Just copied the messages from the console instead of downloading from “Troubleshooting”.
Yes, I’m using and old HDHomerun on a Qnap currently running PMS 1.16.0.1226.
I only got the Homerun 2 days ago and set up everything in the evening. Was happy to see how well everything worked with Plex and immediately bought the lifetime Plex pass. Next day I updated through the QNAP AppCenter and stuff stopped working. Afterwards installed 1.16.0.1220 and 1.16.1226 but that didn’t help. Just shelled out $120 for something that does not work anymore. The issue might very well be on my side, btw, not blaming anyone so far.
Unfortunately I am unable to downgrade again because I can’t seem to find older PMS QNAP packages (.qpkg).
You are still not giving me the default logs zip file - there was a chance that the older logs would show what was happening and on what channel when you said it was all working fine the night before. The logs for the tuner service keep the last 6 restarts of the server
What time was the failed curl ? We need to establish if it was empty because of the issue that is causing the tuning failures or if it was just syntax issue with the request that you ran on the QNAP linux terminal/shell session
The logs show two failures on channel 6.1
At Jun 14, 2019 08:37:50 and at 08:42:05
Both cases the logs suggest the tuner is not returning any data
Was channel 6.1 working ok with HD Homerun app after this?
Well, that got me thinking, since I get 100% signal quality on the HDHomerun software and turns out I’m a dunce. As I mentioned before, I just got the device and I’m new to it. The old ones have two antenna inputs…one for each tuner. I just hooked up one, thinking that I don’t foresee ever needing the second tuner. Everything worked fine at first with both Plex and HDHomerun. Not sure what changed, but I guess at some point Plex tried to access the second tuner (or was served the signal from the second tuner by the HDHomerun).
Long story short: I hooked up the antenna to both inputs now and everything works. Sorry to have wasted your time.
Now I have to decide whether I’ll keep the Gen5 HDHomerun that I ordered today.
