I have the original HDHomerun tuner. When I scan for channels through the HDHR software I get 95 channels. When I scan through Plex Plex only sees 57 channels. How can I get Plex to see the others?
38 channels is very close to 45. Which is the number of channels in HDHR’s new Premium TV service. In you have an OTA tuner, then those are the missing channels. The demo channels only play for two-minutes before just becoming an ad for the service. Plex doesn’t support these and probably never will. Who wants 45 channels of the same ad?
If you have a CableCard tuner, those channels are probably encrypted by your cable provider. Plex does not currently support decrypting them. Only HDHR’s app can current play encrypted channels.
My cable company is digital but all unencrypted. They do not use cable boxes at all. My HDHR is the original dual tuner that supports OTA or unencrypted cable. There tuners were out long before the Silicon Dust subscription TV service.
Fair enough. However, there service is a little over a month old. All their tuners predate it.
Do the channels play back in HDHR’s client?
True true. Every channel does play through VLC from the HDHR setup.
