After scanning for channels the next screen asks for my postal code for a guide.
It will not accept my postal code nor will it allow me to skip the screen
Suggestions?

@wilsonjp I believe this bug is known about and a “Hotfix” is being written as we speak as there are a number of issues with the DVR/LiveTV that need to be fixed because of the new EPG rolling out, and I think Plex Developers have had a eye opener with the Regions split into sub regions in England!!
If you need more info, I’m sure @sa2000 will fill you in with what is going on???
Dave
Thank you
It helps to know “not just me” which usually means will be fixed - sometime soonish
The update has been released just now.
You may need to update manually, if you need it immediately:
- Stop/quit/end Plex Server with the tray icon
- deinstall Plex Server with the regular ‘Apps’ control panel of Windows (do not use 3rd party ‘Uninstaller’ software like Revo etc.)
- for safety, reboot Windows
- download the installation exe of the newer version and install it
(If you want to install an older version of PMS, take a look into %LOCALAPPDATA%\Plex Media Server\Updates
)
The new update was available in Plex so I installed it and rebooted my computer. Same issue locked at postal code
Please send me your postal code per PM.
If the post code has a space character that before was removed, it should now be put in until a further fix is in place at the epg provider end
So for Canada enter post code with space
I tried that same result
@OttoKerner Is this update the Hotfix? also @sa2000 Cheers for stepping in, I’ve been chatting with @cire12 about the EPG in the UK and explained how England is split into Sub regions to, I think I gave him a headache lol!!
I believe they’re going with the 5 main regions first, then work from there? If you guys need any help with the sub regions, please let me know and I will help as much as I can, being an Englishman now living in Wales though, Wales is one of the easiest regions to add to the Plex EPG as Northern Ireland is and we’re not split into sub regions.
Ah, once we have all this fixed Plex will be one of the best Media Servers out, but please don’t hesitate to ask us Beta testers, I know I lost my cool a couple of times, and that I do apologise, but TV is a luxury here in this household and with the remote users, and my Dad is testing the EPG to, so if he spots any issues, he’ll be passing it on through me…
Dave
Yes, it only has these as release notes:
FIXES:
- (DVR) Don’t default to Episode 1. (#10207)
- (DVR) Users in Canada and Ireland were unable to set up a new DVR. (#10204)
@OttoKerner Cheers and I’ve applied it, this will make life easier to add channels to the DVR now to!! Any update on the 5 Region EPG yet? I know I’ve been chatting with @cire12 earlier and getting the 5 main regions sorted first will be a plus all round… The UK is complicated when it comes to OTA TV, as I know you guys have now realised
Dave
I’m also still having the same issue with the latest update and UK postcode.
Are there any postcodes in the UK that are known to be working, as a quick workaround?
I’m only feeding in Freesat channels, so any UK Region should pretty much match up for now
Cheers
W
Please try all upper-case letters and with space after the first 3 characters.
@wilsonjp I just typed in the first part of my postcode which is CF39 and the continue button lit up, I’ve found we don’t need the second half of it, if that helps?
Dave
Canada needs both parts
Release Notice for 1.16.1.1273 i has now been added - see Plex Media Server
- (DVR) Don’t default to Episode 1. (#10207)
- (DVR) Users in Canada can now set up a new DVR, using a space in the postal code. (#10204)
- (DVR) Users in Ireland can now set up a new DVR.
- (DVR) Additionally show channel title in DVR setup where only an internal channel identifier is present.
A full manual refresh is needed to correct errors eg E1 Episodes
Worked in Canada
thanks
I tried your postcode, and it originally didn’t still work… tried it using capital letters however, and it suddenly works, and again with my postcode too…
how bizarre
@wallsy1703 It’s the age of case sensitive, Linux is bad for it, and it seems Plex is too
Just setup TVHeadend on my server, but cannot get the plugin to show on Plex, any idea’s anyone??
Dave
plexheadend is working without issue for me, to get the 2 to talk with each other.
