I have the same problem i realy do not want to have to delete everything and start over is there any chance that an update is going to fix this soon. if not than reinstall and start over without any further updates is the only choice
I have seen several threads on this very issue of the Live TV DVR not working after the last server update. How long does it take before PLEX solves an issue like this. Is it really expected that the users of their software have to come up with their own fixes. I donāt understand that.
I have been having the same problem since everything after .3112. Going to go back to it nowā¦
I also have the lifetime plex pass, so this really sucks. Also, with the last update, the Tuner Service doesnāt even run anymore!!!
⦠and .3112 works fine! I just changed my updates to be āServer version updates Ask meā on my General tab, since I seem to be stuck with this old version forever⦠or until I get a new computer or tuner or operating systemā¦
Obviously the oh so helpful people at PLEX changed something back in July, and canāt tell us what!!!
I finally got around to it! followed your instructions and it kept my channels and DVR schedule. Thank you!
I went back to previous version. It was easy and didnāt have to set anything up really. I hope on the next update this will be fixed though.
I am having the same problem. Where can I find the previous versions.
It worked for me, thank you very much! It was getting me a bit crazy. I made a copy for backup, just in case, but was not necessary in the end because PLEX kept everything (user profiles, channels, libraries, name it)
Iām using a Hauppauge WinTV-DualHD by the way.
If anyone else was having this problem on a Windows 7 system, upgrading to Windows 10 solved this problem for me! I was able to do it for free by following these instructions:
Never mind! it worked once, and then failed after that. The tuner service crashes after one use, and then I have to kill the Plex Media Service task, and the Update Service task, and restart it to get the tuner service to run again. When I restarted the Plex Media Server, by double clicking on it in the Plex Media Server folder, the Update Service task didnāt start, and now the tuner service doesnāt crash. I tried to get the Update Service to run, as well as the Update Service Launcher, but I couldnāt either to run, and I am still able to record just fine.
BTW, when I reboot my machine, I have to do this again, but it works.
Iāve had issues as well. I recently updated to 4.44.2, and things Iāve noticed is that when trying to watch from my browser, or if I cast it via chromecast from my iPad, it does not work. The transcoder takes up 100% CPU. However, if I set a speed for the cast, i.e. 10 MB, it plays just fine over chrome cast at very low CPU usage. I have my local network set to use 10 MB, and I have my ranges and everything set up. It used to work, but stopped about a month ago, but didnāt think anything of it until I actually want to watch something.
It would be nice to select the bandwidth used on the browser like you can on the app.
After reading elsewhere, it seems that the issue was that my LAN setting in the network tab had been reset to default.
I reconfigured it and Iām back up to streaming my normal HD quality.
Same issue here on Hauppaauge Quad-HD. I have the plex server running on Server 2019. I donāt appear to have a %localappdata%āplex media server\updatesā folder to get a previous version from. Also nothing in %appdata% or %programdata%.
Guess Iām stuck hoping for an update that might fix it. Now I have to watch it live with addsā¦

Trying to run setup for Live TV and Plex recognizes my tuner, but will not scan for channels.
