I’m having trouble with the Live TV option disappearing from the plex windows app. When I log into the app with a home user, I can see the option show for a split second, then it just disappears and the menu shifts up. I’ve managed to click on it before it goes, and it does work.
When I log in from chrome, it shows and works fine, just when using the windows app it doesn’t.
When using the “home user account” is this a managed user or a standalone one?
Also, when testing in Chrome, you haven’t specified if it’s the same account? It’s possible the option to hide the Live TV option from the user is set.
Or that the option is not pinned to the menu (enabled for the user but user hasn’t pinned it) which is why it works despite pulling a disappearing act.
Check in the “… more” menu under the Plex libraries to see if it is there. If it is, you can pin it to the home menu, otherwise you’ll have to check in your admin settings for that user to enable live TV for them.
Thanks for your reply, sorry yes, exactly the same account i’m using between the app and in chrome, it’s the server admin account (not a managed user), so I can’t see it in the list of users to restrict it at all (unless i’m looking in the wrong place)
I have clicked more and it’s not in the unpinned section either. I just switched users and they have it, so it looks like a setting just in my account and just in the app… sigh…
I couldn’t see any of my settings, so I logged into a different home user and I can select my account now. It seems that somehow the live TV was disabled, I enabled it but when I swapped back to my account, still same thing, there for a split second, then gone.
