How do I do this? Same issue with DVB-T mpeg4 in Ireland. 16:9 displays as 4:3 when watching live. Recorded or transcoded programs are fine.
@DaveBinM. Please help! What exactly do you need please?
The problem is STILL occurring with latest version of Android TV App on both of my Sony TVās.
I can get all new logs and screenshots but the last time I never received feedback. See my post above (Live TV: SD channels render incorrectly as 4:3) where I posted all logs back on November.
Here in New Zealand, the āhome learningā channel set up for our kids during lockdown is in SD. So the picture is squashed to 4:3.
Thanks, Elton.

Please let me know if you need any more testing, logs, anything. This is driving me crazy and Iām clearly not the only one with issues. All other clients are fine except my 2x Android TVās.
Thanks, Elton.
Can you provide a longer sample, say a minute or two? That sample is tiny
Hi @DaveBinM.
Sorry, my notifications were going to my junk folder. I focused my efforts on getting the ānew playerā (see below) and finally managed to get that working. Once the new player was working the problem was fixed so it appeared to be related to the older player.
If anyone else has this issue, I recommend focusing on getting the new player working (see below) as its much more responsive and more likely to be supported in future.
