I’m getting ready to cut the cord, but noticed tonight while watching PBS that a QR code for donations was fuzzy - too fuzzy to be of use and the rest of the picture was soft - not quite like SD, but a lot worse then HD. I checked the feed to Plex which is coming from HDHomeRun, which is sharp, so it’s not a problem there, but someone else in the path through Plex to my television..

I’m using a Synology 920+ to run Plex with the most recent Plex Media Server version. The player is through an Apple TV devices (ATV 4K 2nd version).

Are there any setting tweaks I should be trying to get the picture sharp?

Apple devices in general don’t support mpeg2 which is used in most OTA broadcasts. If the devices are not detecting local access to the server the client quality settings may be causing additional degradation in the transcoding. Start a Live TV session, give a 20-30 seconds and check the dashboard in a browser https://app.plex.tv/web , grab a screenshot.
