Live TV Recordings don't separate by season

So this may not be the right place to post this, but I’m seeing something weird with my live tv recordings. When I go to the library I created that holds the live tv recordings, some shows have their thumbnail and internally they are separated by seasons. However, some shows just list the number of episodes recorded, and doesn’t separate them by season. There doesn’t seem to be any rhyme or reason to it. It happens to shows where I’ve recorded multiple seasons. I use the default Live TV Recording directory layout, and all the recorded shows are recorded the same way using my HDHomeRun device.

I’ve looked extensively for a way to change the view from episodes to season, but cannot see anything that will toggle that. What am I missing?

Try going to the Advanced Settings of the library you are recording to. There’s a ‘Seasons’ pop-up menu that should be set to ‘Show’ to do what you want. It might be set to one of the ‘Hide’ options now.

It was already set to show. It’s not happening to all the shows I record, just a few of them.

In another similar thread I learned that setting is also available at the show level. Wow. It’s like setting inception. Might look there too.

That setting is also available on individual shows, if you edit the show itself. Worth checking there too.

Yo dawg I herd you like settings so we put a setting in yo settings so you can configure while u configuring

As an added bonus if you “Fix Match” a show that didn’t match, it will reset back to hide.

I finally found the individual show setting… Wow, that is very obscure.

I had the issue of recorded shows defaulting to hide seasons recently. Never had a problem with it until about 3 months ago. Now it ignores the library setting and any new show it records is set to hide seasons. Very frustrating.
