I have a library for TV shows that has Seasons set to “Show”. All of the TV shows that get recorded are defaulting to “Hide” (even shows I have NEVER recorded before) instead of “Library Default”.
Is there a ‘master setting’ someplace that determines what the setting for new TV shows will be? Or, is it just hard-coded to “Hide”? I’m getting tired of having to keep going into shows and changing it show-by-show within the library.
The only setting that should apply is the Seasons option in the advanced tab of that particular library (... > Manage Library > Edit... -> Advanced > Season). I just double-checked this on my system… here, all new shows default to Library Default.
That is not correct.
Setting the Library to a particular setting will allow recordings in that library to inherit the setting. If the show is set to a specific setting, the library setting is ignored.
As mentioned, new recordings are being created with a show-specific setting while they SHOULD be getting created with that setting as “Library Default.”
I -want- the library setting to apply, but that requires that the show be configured to Library Default but it is not being created that way.
Just learned that’s a known issue for episodes recorded with Plex DVR.
And when was that issue logged? Is there a public bug tracker for reference?
Well, I guess we can consider this ‘public acknowledgement’ of the bug as being at least a starting point. We’ll see how long it takes before this gets patched and everyone can at least refer back to this thread for a reference of time.
