I have noticed AI Enhance on the NVIDIA Shield does not work with stream from my HDHomeRun unless I change the quality to “convert automatically”.
I also have the problem of video stutters on some channels unless I set “convert automatically” or rewind a few seconds.
I have looked in the server settings and on the player side, and there does not seem to be an option to “convert automatically” in settings for ANY stream, even though I would only like this to apply to my live TV streams, and the only option I have in the player is to transcode to 1080p 20mbps, which much of my content is above this and I do not want to downgrade my 4k titles in my library.
The closest thing I have found is a setting on Plex Server in the device settings for my HDHomeRun is to “Convert video while recording” which I have set to “Transcode”.
If anyone knows how to force transcode for Live TV only, or a workaround it would be greatly appreciated. I am hoping it will not only allow me to use the AI Upscaling feature, but also eliminate the stutter I see on certain TV channels.
