Live TV with 2 HDHomerun Tuners Causes Channel to not Work

Server Version#: 1.13.9.5456
Player Version#: 3.81.1

I’ve had Plex working fine for several months with a HDHomerun Prime using a cablecard from our cable company. Recently they lost broadcasting rights to KTLA, but that channel is available over the air. I had an old HDHomerun Dual tuner so I purchased an antenna and plugged it in. Using the HDHomerun program I can see that KTLA is coming through fine.

I added the second tuner to PMS and it ran the channel scan and saw the channel as well. After adding it, it refreshed the guide but when I try to watch the channel it either says no parts or can’t tune to the channel. If I remove the cable card tuner from Plex then KTLA works fine. Adding back the cable card tuner causes the channel to not work again.

Any ideas?

You may be experiencing the random but frequent inability to tune to a channel bug that has been around for a long time and really exacerbated by server version 5488 back in early to mid December. LiveTV/DVR is VERY unstable and mostly unusable right now. PLEX claims they’re working on it but no word on when…

Way back when, shortly after Live TV/DVR first became available I remember there were issues trying to get two HDHomerun devices to work with one server… Don’t remember the specifics or if PLEX ever got it working…

I’m currently running 2 HDHomerun devices on my PMS.
Not sure if the Cable Card is version is the culprit in this instance? Have you tried removing them both and the start with the OTA duo first? Could this be another “Plex Dance Needed” issue?

Unless you are creating your own guide it can only be one, either cable or OTA information. Other thing that can be occurring is unless you unselect all sources (multiple listings) of that channel on the prime you can’t stop Plex from trying to use it for that station.
