Thought I’d ask in here what everyone’s opinions are on this. I work for a small phone/cable/internet provider. Unfortunately I live outside of our service area so I can’t get our service at home. I run a Plex server at home, and I’ve been looking for the best way to setup an STB at my office and watch from home using Plex if that’s even possible. . .I’ve looked at doing it with a Slingbox which might be the best way, but i’d love to do it with Plex somehow.
I do this with plex, No problem at all.
I watch my Live TV remotely on several platforms.
Android phone, FireTV, Chrome browser, Roku.
Now… Plex has no protected paths for DRM so, and you will know, working for said company, If they DRM their channels you will have a problem with those.
You will need a cable card and a tuner on your local LAN and configured on your Plex server.
I use 2 silicondust primes with my Comcast service.
