Livetv - DVR - Remote User - Plex Pass?

Hello,

I’ve been able to use the Live TV/DVR option fairly well. Children have moved out of state and want to give them access via their Roku/FireTV. While I have a Plex Pass, they do not. Will they each need a Plex Pass to use the Live TV ? Was looking at the Home User option but it doesnt seem to really support Internet/Individual access…

Thanks,
Steve

For a Home user, click on General, and you have the option to allow access to Live TV

Can this be viewed outside the local network ?

Yes, home users are not restricted to be on local lan

So… tried this. From the outside pointing to my personal IP address (port 32400) (even with the specific IP address/DNS name), I get redirected to app.plex.tv

which will then ask for my personal ‘plex’ account which would be the plex pass account. I get that in being that this is what the user would need to validate

‘rights’. The problem with this is that it also gives them full access to the plex server without asking for the PIN. Once they switch users then a pin is asked, but

during initial login it dumps the user into full admin mode (at least using a browser like chrome).

Settings/General

Automatically Sign In.

Do not prompt to select a user or enter a PIN during startup on this device.

Thanks…

This option is ‘not’ checked though… Should it be ?
