Yes having the same issue. Will not run for more than 3 minutes on any device.

Deleted the new beta version you listed. Went back to server version 1.24.1.4931 and it is working fine. I thought I would try the Beta version because the current public version 1.24.4.5081-e362dc1ee was not working either for live tv. It would shut down my live tv connection on my fire tv app at 3 minutes after every program change. This beta version is even worse only runs for 3 min. Going back to older version is working for me. What they did to the current public and the beta version is not working for live tv streaming on my home network. I would recommend going back to an older version like the one above and shutting off automatic server update until they figure this mess out.

Hi @drzoidberg33 just wanted to let you know as I can’t find this mentioned anywhere else. The latest server beta kills Android clients from being able to pull live TV up. It doesn’t appear on the actual server and disconnects the connection in 3 minutes.

I cant say my issue is the 3 “minutes” but will say I use an ONN device, Android TV, and an LG TV with Plex, and both will just stop live streaming and pinwheel.

Yeah I forget what the exact time is that they set for Android client to drop. But ultimately it’s not registering on the server:).

No, the way the server works is if someone is watching TV and closes the application or turns off their box the server will hold the connection for up to 3 minutes or somewhere around there then drop the connection. But in this case the server is not even registering the connection correctly so it’s dropping it. Someone messed something up. But it’s a beta, hopefully they don’t release it to public🙄.

I don’t think it’s fixed. I am running Version 1.24.4.5081 and live TV just cuts off.

That’s your server version, you have to update your client version to the latest beta to fix it. Or wait for a public release in a couple weeks😔.

Thanks, took a bit to get into the beta program and the live stream is fixed. Why or what is taking so long for plex to make this accessible by all?

Yes It appears they fixed the Android TV playback freeze but now they broke the web player. Web players freezes after 3 minutes of TV playback. Why can’t they test this properly before releasing it. You think someone should have seen web payback freeze after 3 minutes. I’m on Linux and with no native Linux player I’m stuck using the web player which is now broken badly. Catch 22 here I rollback the server version android TV breaks again, I keep the current version and my web player is broken.

LOL, I don’t think beta vs public Plex anything really has a difference. They are both equally broken in their own special ways. LOL.

I’m not sure this is necessarily something with only the android beta. I’m getting this behavior when I try to use the web client. My iOS 15 client seems to freeze at about the same interval that the web client times out but the iOS client session does show up in the dashboard.
Like with your original post my web client doesn’t register in the dashboard at all and the console generates the same duration warning.

I just downgraded my Ubuntu Plex Server with LiveTV & DVR configured with HDHomeRun from version “plexmediaserver_1.24.5.5173-8dcc73a59_amd64.deb” back to version “plexmediaserver_1.24.3.5033-757abe6b4_amd64.deb” and my TV playback is stable. It was terminating with the message that the session had ended after a few minutes.

This was after restarting the HDHomeRun PRIME and testing, then restarting the Plex server host itself and testing, finally, I downgraded the server application and it has been stable.

Yea… I can confirm this is happening. I have a HD Runner Quad and after a few minutes the web client seems to kill the connection. After a TON of debugging, even though the logs say the device closed the connection, I am convinced this is a Plex issue. Otherwise downgrading the Plex server wouldn’t fix the issue. Something was introduced in the web client that is causing this.

iOS app works, apple tv works, web client no go.

Downgraded the Plex server to 1.24.3.* and it seems stable. I normally can’t stand the “Update available” but I think I will live with it until Plex fixes their stuff.
