With regard to Local Files for TV Show Trailers and Extras (Seasons), why after years is this still not working on Nvidia Shield / Android TV ?
I can see the Behind the Scenes, Interviews etc. on the Plex app on Samsung TV (TizenOS) but not on Android TV (Sony, Hitachi, Nvidia Shield).
I read discussion online from 2021 that this only worked on certain platforms, yet here we are in 2025 and it’s still not working. :o(
Are there any plans to make this work on all platforms anytime soon please?
While I’m on a moan-athon, can the default setting be Library, so the actual content shows up, without the ridiculous faff of switching tab to Recommended?
The Recommended trab should be gotten rid of, it’s useless and makes no sense.
We want to open Plex app and see my content library.
It’s working for all tiers of a show in the new experience apps (official/public releases and previews). With that, it’ll also be available on the Android TV app once that gets the „new experience“ treatment.
My Nvidia shield app is currently showing me show level and season level extras.
What’s missing are episode-level extras.
(Mainly because there is no such thing as an episode preplay page in the current app. You are by default at a season preplay. To get to the show preplay you need to use the … (ellipsis) under the episode thumbnails.

On the Plex app for AndroidTV on my Nvidia Shield I only see the extras under Shows (Line of Duty), but I see nothing under Seasons, when I click on episode (Wentworth).
The extras are in folder named as per the Plex guidelines, and folders placed in correct place, I think, alongside all Seasons for Show, alongside episodes for Season level extras.
It works perfectly on the Samsung TV TizenOS app, but I never use that, usually only use Plex app on the Shield, where nothing under the season or episode, I clicked the ellipsis … More but only Playback Settings, GoTo Show, More Info etc.
I did a factory reset of my Shield and it should be latest version of app: 10.30.6.4151 (f1455a3f)
Is this the latest version, and what’s the “new experience” app mentioned please?

I’m sorry, I was mistaken. What you can see in this current app are Show level extras and Episode level extras. Season level extras are missing.
Show level extras require the above mentioned route over the ellipsis menu and “Go to Show”.
Episode level extras appear further below, when you scroll to them in the season preplay screen. (“Below” means outside of the current view port, so you might miss that they even exist. They appear even below of the Cast list and the Reviews hub.)
